When It's Time to Let Go and...
Most women are natural born teachers and leaders. That’s probably why we were given the gift of bearing and raising the children. It’s a job that requires working on both cylinders!
Women want to fix things, solve problems, keep things organized and make sure the tribe is happy and clean. We even possess the innate ability to seek order and perfection. Okay, that's my opinion, but I think it's pretty accurate for the most part.
How do you know WHEN it’s time to let go and…?
What if a member of your tribe refuses to “go with your flow?” What do you do then? Cajole, bargain, threaten, wail and gnash your teeth?
Surely by now you’ve discovered that doesn’t work. Why? Because you’re speaking two different languages. Each person is attempting to get their point across, but no matter what you do, your words are lost in translation.
Now what? You have to come to terms with the fact that everyone has their own mind and “when the student is ready, the teacher will come.” After all, as much as we want to believe we can control everything, the fact is, we can’t. We can only control our own mind and that in itself is a monumental task. Given we’re subject to about 60,000 thoughts per day (pretty much the same ones we had yesterday), I’d say we’re already busy enough!
As the leader and head caretaker of the tribe you want everyone to do their best to stay happy and healthy, right? What do you do if you see someone headed for disaster and they refuse to listen to reason?
This is where the “Let go and let God,” comes in. Cause believe me, you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make ‘em drink!
Until the day comes… Mortality is staring them in the face and they decide it’s time to concede. This is what happened to my husband. Oh, it was a slow painful process to watch, for the both of us.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” (From the Author) ~Marianne Williamson
When we first met, over 40 years ago, he firmly informed me that he wouldn’t eat rabbit food (salad). Today he has a much different story.
Here’s how he describes his initiation to a change that would not only save his live, but transform it forever.
The more room you give yourself to express your true thoughts and feelings, the more room there is for your wisdom to emerge.
