Tropical Fruit Salad
Who knew these tropical fruits would taste so incredible together? And make for an amazing taste sensation when eaten together.

When summer fruit isn’t available, tropical fruits can be found year-round in many regions of the world.
Although this tropical fruit salad has three basic ingredients, you can also add your favorites. Blackberries, strawberries, blueberries and a bit of fresh mint make for a delightful contribution this healthy and delicious tropical fruit salad.
Ingredients:
-
1-2 kiwis washed, with peel, cut into small bite-size pieces
-
3-4 pineapple slices, cut into small bite-size pieces, core removed
-
1-2 bananas sliced, bite-size pieces
Keep the peel on the kiwis (only if they’re organic). Like most fruit, the bulk of the plant nutrients are found in the peel.
Chopped nuts such as walnuts add extra nutrients such as brain/heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids.
Mix fruit gently in a bowl and serve.
Health Benefits
Kiwi
Contains more Vitamin C than an equivalent amount of an orange. Its Vitamin C supports the immune system and may, when included in a fruit and vegetable rich diet, reduce risk of death from all causes including stroke, cancer and heart disease. Rich in both vitamins and minerals this tiny fruit’s phytonutrients (plant nutrients) can even protect your DNA.
Pineapple
Rich in antioxidant Vitamin C. Vitamin C supports the immune system and protects against free radical damage that can lead to diabetic heart disease, artery plaque build-up, asthma attacks and more. Eating 3 servings of fruit each day can significantly reduce one’s risk of age-related macular degeneration.
Bananas
Rich in potassium which is beneficial for cardiovascular health. They support normal heart function, blood pressure and overall digestive health. Research indicates a diet that includes potassium-rich and fiber-rich bananas can help keep blood cholesterol levels in check and potentially helpful in lowering heart disease risk.
