Motivation is literally providing a reason or desire to do things a certain way. It’s the cause and effect when moving forward towards a task, goal or dream.
Motivation +Task + Goal + Dream = SUCCESS
Success is the progressive realization of a worthwhile dream or goal. You are always moving forward; success never stops moving.
What compels someone to start anything?
Whether it is getting up in the morning and going to work or cleaning the house, we are motivated to act. What is it that keeps you going at the end of the day when you are exhausted and there is more yet to do? What motivates you to keep going when others are counting on you and all you want to do is sit down and rest?
Being motivated by desire is quite different than an obligation or commitment. Perhaps you just bought a new car, a home or started your own business. These are dreams that are fresh with high levels of excitement. Your latest fascination most likely has contributed to lack of sleep, day dreaming while on and off the job and stimulating conversations. If you’ve been in a rut or routine mode for a while, this new experience is just what you need. Although exciting and motivating, in some cases it may be overwhelming, yet electrifying!
Most everyone has some sort of motivation. We are motivated by negative or positive reasons, yet both have the same result; moving forward. Personally, I’ll take positive over negative any day. I’d much rather feel optimistic while moving forward. Ask any successful person and they will agree, the good and the bad go hand in hand. While moving toward your dream you will experience highs and lows on your motivational journey.
More often than not, people are sick and tired of being sick and tired of the same old job, life, etc. This will cause electricity in the brain prompting a decision. This decision will drive you to a point where nothing will stop you no matter what. This is the most wonderful part of the process; it is the mechanism that turns the motivational key on to start the engine.
What’s your motivation? Is it the negative that starts you progressing forward? Or is it the positive? It really doesn’t matter as long as the decision has been made and the train is moving on.
