Who Am I and Why Am I Here?

Have you ever wondered what you should be doing in life; who you are supposed to be and what would make you happy?

Chances are, you have. And you’re not alone. Everyday, millions of people are thinking the same thing, “Who am I and why am I here?”

“What’s my life all about?”

Instinctively we know that working 9-5 and sleeping in on the weekends is not the purpose of our existence. It certainly doesn’t bring fulfillment or happiness.

We have become so distracted by the world that most of us don’t realize we’re here to do something amazing with our lives That we aren't just a meat suit created to be consumers of everything the world tells us we need.

Each one of us has been created for a specific purpose. A purpose that expresses our soul and gives meaning to life. A greatness that is available to everyone. Not just the Michaelangelos or Mozarts of the world.

The essential question we long to discover (whether we realize it or not) is this:

“Who am I and why am I here on this earth?”

Each day as I venture out into the world, I observe people rushing by, frantic as if they’ve lost someone near and dear. Frozen expressions of worry and grief etched into their faces from a lifetime of constant struggle.

I search for eyes that have the light still bright in them. Those that know all is well, all is going as planned. And everything really is okay. On rare occasion our eyes meet, a brief moment of recognition that says, “I see you.”

I breathe a sigh of relief feeling comforted. I am home among the unhurried; the peaceful, loving souls, hearts open and unafraid to shine their light into the world.

I so want to say to others, “It’s okay, you are a beautiful, loving spirit. You’ve just forgotten who you are.”

A lifetime of disappointment, neglect and abuse scars the soul. It closes the heart to others and to one’s self. When we forget the beautiful children we were born to be, life becomes one of struggle, pain and discontent.

You are here for a purpose. Your job is to find that purpose. Your discovery will bring you to your bliss; your passion and your divine mission for this incredible life you were born to live.
