The hurrier I go, the behinder I get. Sometimes referred to as “haste makes waste.”
No one likes to feel rushed, short on time or frustrated. Rushing around without a plan is a recipe for insanity AND disaster. We do it because it's a habit and we don’t realize we’re doing it to ourselves. We believe the world is happening to us, and we don’t have a choice.
I grew up in a full catastrophe living environment. I modeled the adults around me and it wasn’t pretty. As a young adult, I was unhappy and dissatisfied with life. Life was one big hurry to get there and hurry to go home.
Don’t Let Your Mind be a Cruel Taskmaster
Your thoughts can hold you hostage. Mine did. For decades. Worry and anxiety cause stress and it will literally wear you out, I know.
I didn’t want to have thoughts that made me feel hopeless and sad. I knew life could be better and I was desperate to figure out how I could change my thoughts and be happy.
What can you do to change your thoughts and stop worrying?
Number one and it works every time: You just have to remember to do it before your mind takes over and has you in a fearful tizzy.
Make the decision to begin each day with an attitude of gratitude. When you are looking and feeling grateful for things and people you have in your life you cannot feel worried or anxious. Do this throughout your day. Especially when you find yourself thinking negatively.
Junk food and drinks- Processed garbage foods pollute the mind as well as the body.
Too much caffeine will put you in a mental frenzy. Not a good place to be. Caffeine produces the stress hormone cortisol, which can also create belly fat.
Delete the Old to Make Room for the New
To free your mind and live peacefully, you must delete the old programming that does not serve you. Your negative thoughts are the old paradigms (beliefs) that you have been taught since the day you were born. Most of our thoughts are created by default from past memories. They are not real and they do not have to be yours any longer.
Include positive affirmations in your daily routine. Put them where you can read them throughout the day. Create new changes/habits in your life with affirming quotes. Eventually, your old worrisome thoughts that created stress, and ruled your life, will fade away.
Learn to love YOU. How you treat and feel about yourself will always reflect in your relationships with friends, family, and the world.
“Calmness of mind is the most beautiful jewel of wisdom.”
