You Can Draw, But You Can’t Paint (with your nose)

Anyone can draw. You don’t need a pen, brush or pencil. No canvas or paper is required either.

You can draw spectacular masterpieces. What’s even more spectacular is what it will do for you.

If you read or stare at a computer for prolonged periods of time, work on a smart phone or pad or just generally keep your neck down a lot, you’ll love it.

It’s called “nose drawing.” Sounds strange I know. I thought it was a little weird at first, being a cautious skeptic I questioned its efficacy. *Figured it couldn’t hurt to try it. It’s supposed to improve eyesight, we've found it to be very effective for massaging and relaxing the neck.

One afternoon we happened upon the YouTube video, “Bates Method 101: Nose Drawing.”

With me on the couch, and Rick in his favorite chair, we closed our eyes and starting drawing. I turned to him and said, “What are you drawing?” Surprisingly, we were doing the exact same symbol! The symbol for infinity. (Looks like an elongated number eight on its side.)

Nose drawing is super easy. Close your eyes and begin drawing pictures with your nose. Practice for several minutes. Use your imagination to create images. This technique relaxes the neck and other areas of the body as well.

I cannot say with absolute certainty that the information offered on the video is scientifically founded, however, it feels wonderful and my neck feels good every day. (Proof is in the pudding!) Since I started this little technique I haven’t gone a day without it.

Computer eyestrain takes a toll on the eyes. Practice nose drawing for several minutes throughout your day to relax your eyes and neck and to experience its wonderful effects! Happy nose drawing!!
