How Not to Get Sick
I know what you’re thinking, EVERYBODY gets sick.
Ok, that’s true. But what if I told you, getting sick is a choice and doesn’t happen by mistake? Yes, there are about 10% of us that are unlucky, however…
What makes me so different from most people? First of all, I don’t like to be miserable and I don’t want to slow down.
Nope, there isn’t much that will keep me planted to a chair or couch, except exhaustion or my meditation time! My kids used to tell me, “Mom, you never sit through a movie.” I didn’t have the heart to tell them I didn’t much care for their choice of movies, and there’s always something interesting to read or do.
Truth be told, when kids become teenagers most parents will do anything to be near them. I spent several years reading my son’s entire Stephen King collection. And I don’t care much for scary anything.
This is the same son that told me he and his brother didn’t dare get sick when they were growing up. I had an anti-flu remedy I would mix up, and God help the poor child that even looked funny.
My youngest son would get ill (or so he said) in order to stay home from school. The moment I told him, “Sam, you don’t have to get sick to stay home,” he stopped getting sick. That was a huge ah-hah for me. I had suspected the mind-body connection was a powerful determinant of health and illness. Several years later my insight was confirmed in the book “You Can Heal Your Life” by Louise Hay.
So what’s the bottom line here? Eat wholesome nutrient-rich foods.
Like sugar? Eat it once in a great while and ALWAYS choose organic foods, the best your circumstances allow. Instead of living to eat, Eat to Live.
