Health Risks! Shampoo & Conditioner?

Before you use your current shampoo and conditioner, READ THIS!

Your hair products may contain 5 of the most potentially toxic ingredients in personal care products.

And hair loss is the least of your concerns. If you’re using commonly advertised shampoo and conditioner, hair loss may be a symptom or sign of a much more serious problem.

Why are U.S. Personal Care Manufacturers Allowed to Put Potential Toxins in Their Products?

There is virtually no regulation or testing of the 80,000 chemicals used in the personal care and commercial food industry. Sadly, corruption and the Revolving Door Policy makes it possible. Corporate profits in America transcend compassion for human and environmental health.

Does Your Shampoo Contain Any of These

5 Potentially Toxic Chemicals?

Our research found close to 16,000 published studies revealing the many health concerns of SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) in common shampoo. Making matters worse, many contain well over a dozen impossible to read names for chemicals that should never come into contact with your skin.

SLS research studies from EWG have shown links to:

  • Irritation to Eyes & Skin

  • Organ/Reproductive/Development Toxicity

  • Nervous System Damage

  • Endocrine Disruption – Disrupts cell communication to every cell in your body.

  • Cellular Changes within the Body – Risk of Cancer and other symptoms of “dis-ease.”

SLS has over a hundred names.

Other Toxic ingredients in shampoo, conditioner and other personal care products:

Dea– Blocks important nutrient absorption associated with vital brain development in fetuses.

Dioxane- Confirmed as a carcinogen in 1978, Dioxane can be found in adult & children’s personal care products today.

Propylene Glycol – Active ingredient in antifreeze, paints, rubber sealers, and in many solvents.

Shockingly, the U.S. material safety data sheet

warns propylene glycol is a skin irritant, and can cause liver abnormalities and kidney damage! Commonly found in OTC pain relievers such as acetaminophen, however, you may have also seen it in processed foods where its ominous presence is often lurking.

MSG – This well-known flavor enhancer has been linked to numbness, headaches, nausea, drowsiness, burning sensations, among other problems. Why should you avoid monosodium glutamate, or MSG for short, in your personal care products?

Your skin is a carrier not a barrier to toxic chemicals.

Why is that important? Unlike ingesting a substance which would be (somewhat) detoxified by your liver and kidneys, chemicals on the skin bypass your liver and enter your bloodstream and tissues with no protection whatsoever.

Chemicals in personal care products known as endocrine disrupters may be making you

Parabens may be the most problematic as they are proven to mess with your hormones. Very important, considering the endocrine system regulates every function of your body.

Infertility, pregnancy, menstruation, weight gain, fluid retention and depression, among others, are affected by your hormones.

Check your product label for these:

Benzyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid

Butyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid

Ethyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid

Methyl-parahydroxybenzoic acid

Parahydroxybenzoic acid

Don’t be fooled by words such as

Natural or Pure.

Manufacturers will print anything to get you to buy their product. Words like 100% natural, pure or made from Nature, are clever tactics used to deceive you into buying a product that closer resembles what you’d find in a chemist’s lab, not in Nature.

Buyer Beware!

Manufacturers are NOT required to list their ingredients on their product’s label. In fact, EWG scientists found many ingredients were misspelled or had incorrect labeling.

The Chemical industry is BIG business. Billions a year in fact, and control virtually every product in America. From food, patent medicine, personal care, cleaning products, pet health, among others.

We could tell you which shampoo & conditioner brands to avoid, but it’s much easier to show you the ones we’ve found with the help of the EWG, a non-profit dedicated to protecting consumers.

Personal care and cleaning product makers change formulations periodically. We do our best to stay abreast of any changes. Always read labels and if you should find a product that we’ve recommended yet no longer endorsed by the EWG, please contact us with details at
