Is Salt Good?
Not All Salt is Created Equal
Salt is not the evil poison that we’ve been taught to believe. Actually, salt is good for you. However,
not all salt is created equal.
In fact, the salt we’ve been buying for years is not only toxic with chemicals; it is devoid of valuable minerals.
Table Salt
Common table salt (sodium chloride) is poison! It is dried at over 1200 degrees Fahrenheit which alters its natural structure. Sodium chloride has numerous health risks. In addition to depleting energy, the body recognizes it as an unnatural substance and will eliminate it as quickly as possible causing stress to the organs of excretion. Our kidneys can excrete only a small amount of salt. This causes cell dehydration as well as edema, or excess fluid in the body tissue. High levels of salt (sodium chloride) lead to overproduction of uric acid resulting in arthritis, gout, and kidney and gall bladder stones.

Table salt is highly refined with harmful fillers added to prevent caking. It not only poisons the body, it contributes to malnutrition as it is devoid of necessary nutrients the body requires.
Common salt often contains potentially toxic iodine and fluoride.
Preservatives are also added to improve the ability of table salt to pour, such as aluminum hydroxide. Aluminum deposits in your brain and is a potential cause of Alzheimer’s.
Salt is in all processed foods. Every time you eat junk food you are being poisoned. And actually the salt is probably the least of it.
Which Salt is Best?
Beneficial salts are rich in necessary nutrients and provide many healthful benefits. Which salt is best? We suggest Himalayan Pink Salt. Celtic Sea Salt is also popular, however, there are concerns with purity due to the contamination of heavy metals and other toxins in the ocean’s waters. Many sea salt suppliers are refining the sea salt and it isn’t as wholesome as it once was.
Himalayan Salt is a wholesome, unprocessed natural salt that comes from the Himalayan Mountains. Over two hundred and fifty million years ago the Himalayans were born. As the mountains rose out of the ocean, they took with them large deposits of salt. These deposits were formed long before humankind polluted the oceans with toxins and heavy metals, and to this day, remain pure.
Toxic Iodine
Natural forms of iodine are destroyed when salt is refined. Without natural iodine the thyroid is severely harmed leading to thyroid disorders. Chemical-based salt manufacturers add synthetic iodine.
It is the purest salt available on earth and is absolutely uncontaminated with any toxins or pollutants.
Himalayan Salt contains 84 essential minerals the body needs for optimum health.

Although Himalayan Salt contains trace amounts of iodine, it is wise to supplement with other food sources such as, kelp, wakame, fennel, spinach, garlic and carrots. Sea vegetables are your best source. The US RDA for iodine is 150 micrograms. However, according to Joseph Mercola, M.D., this amount may be insufficient for optimal health and brain function.
Cod and scallops provide nearly 90% of the daily recommended amount of iodine for a 4 oz. serving. Here again, ocean contaminants must be considered.
You can also get about 20% of your daily iodine from 1 egg, ½ c. yogurt or 4 oz. of cow’s milk.
Choose only organic eggs and dairy. Non-organic eggs and dairy are tainted with hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, herbicides, gmo’s and more. The farms that produce factory raised animals are unhealthy and subject poor defenseless animals to cruelty. The ethical and social aspect of factory farming should be considered also. In addition to the appalling lives of these poor animals, factory farming contributes to environmental pollution of air, water and soil. It also poisons those working on and near the farms.
Salt is in all processed foods. Every time you eat junk food you are being poisoned. And actually the salt is probably the least of it.
I hope that you have a new perspective on salt. And when you hear someone say, “I can’t have salt,” remember it’s probably a good thing they don’t. However, you can give them the good news about Himalayan Salt.
