Favorite (Anytime) Chili


Just in time for your Sunday get-togethers, this easy to make chili recipe will be popular with the whole family. Also good with ground turkey but use organic, there’s a lot of nasty stuff in it otherwise. Remember, for your health, your family’s health and the health of the planet, choose organic as much as your circumstances allow.




1 lb. pasture-raised organic beef

1 c. onions, chopped

1 c. or 2 stalks celery, thinly sliced

½ - 1 bell pepper, diced

1 c. or 8 oz. can tomato sauce

1-2 c. or 16 oz. can diced tomatoes

4 c. cooked beans, red or white

1 t. Himalayan pink salt- if you’re still using table salt PLEASE read our article on salt!

1 t. freshly cracked black pepper

1 T. chili powder or more to taste

½ - 1 t. oregano

1c. mushrooms, sliced

½ c. black olives, sliced

Add water if needed. (If your chili is thicker than desired.)

In a large cast iron skillet, brown (cook) the meat with the vegetables, and seasonings. Place in a large Dutch oven and add additional ingredients. Bring to a boil and simmer for one hour or longer on medium-low heat. Taste test periodically to check for desired heat level.


Serve with cornbread or cheesy crackers.
