Eating for Good Health
Eating for Good Health is not just the absence of disease, it is the natural state of every human being. In today’s busy world, it is easy to purchase convenient already prepared foods. Unfortunately, these “high-tech fast foods” are virtually devoid of any nutrition. At best they are high in fat, salt, and sugar.
The human body was not designed to eat processed foods. We are natural beings and need natural food. Eating for good health requires real foods found in nature to prevent and heal diseases. Processed foods contain poisonous ingredients that disrupt the body’s natural process for healing and prevention of illness. Chronic disease in America and other “junk food regions of the world,” has reached epidemic proportions due to malnutrition (nutritional wasting from poor nutrition) and toxicity (poisoning).
Our bodies are not accustomed to added ingredients such as pesticides, herbicides, hormones, antibiotics and genetically modified organisms.
The majority of us do not even know what our bodies require to maintain good health. Nature has given us all that we need. Choose foods in their most natural state; whole grains, legumes, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, nuts and seeds, meats, eggs, and dairy are foods that provide the best nutrition. We suggest purchasing organic foods whenever
possible because here again, our bodies are not accustomed to added ingredients such as pesticides, herbicides, hormones, antibiotics and genetically modified organisms.
There is growing evidence that these additives are unhealthy and may cause estrogen dominance, which can lead to cancer and other health problems. According to Joseph Mercola, M.D., the International Agency for Research on Cancer, a part of the World Health Organization, classifies processed meats as a carcinogen. And evidence strongly suggests it can cause colorectal cancer in humans.
Eating for good health makes good sense when you value your health.
Where then does one start?
Choose foods wisely.
Focusing on a diet that is mostly plant based will give you much needed nutrition in the form of omega 3 fatty acids. These fatty acids are lacking in the typical American diet. Fresh fruits and vegetables also contain powerful antioxidants. These plant nutrients have major health benefits and may protect you from illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, and many other degenerative diseases.
These healthy foods will also provide fiber. Diets low in fiber increase your risk of many diseases.
General guidelines for eating for good health:
Reduce your intake of animal fat.
Reduce or eliminate refined sugar.
Reduce your exposure to pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics, hormones and GMO’s.
Eliminate processed salt. It is harmful to your health. Instead use Celtic salt or even better, Pink Himalayan Salt. It supplies all of the 84 minerals you need.
Eliminate prepackaged foods.
