Cleaning Products: The Good and the Bad

The advent of commercial advertising has brought us countless “miracle cleaners” and household/yard products. Unfortunately, those domestic marvels are filled with cancer-causing, unregulated chemical ingredients. Chemicals so dangerous many countries have banned them.

Despite commercial advertising, you don’t need toxic chemicals to get things clean; just nature made ingredients that naturally kill germs, deodorize (leaving a clean, fresh scent) and get your house sparkling clean. And no toxic chemical residue that lingers on little hands and animal feet. Now, you don’t have to poison to protect.  They’re causing disastrous problems and often death.

The Good and the Bad miscellanies cleaning products in display.

Even if you wear gloves you’re still breathing the noxious fumes, leaving toxic residue on your counters and floors; increasing risk of contamination to food, kids and pets. Many chemicals used in cleaning products are so dangerous they’re on the U.S. government’s hazardous materials list! And because they’re available to the public, we think they’re safe.

Follow this basic rule of thumb when it comes to dangerous, unregulated poisons and start cleaning your home of toxic chemicals today.

Label describing highest hazard to safest in household cleaning labels. Waste Management Program product hazarders.

READ THE LABEL ON EVERY PRODUCT YOU BUY!!

Please discard the toxic product responsibly. It is illegal in many areas to throw toxic chemicals (and empty containers) in the garbage. Those destined for the landfill or ocean further contribute to poisoning the environment and pose a threat to human health.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency considers leftover household products that are corrosive or toxic as hazardous waste.

And require special care when you dispose of them.

Discontinue use and discard (responsibly) any product that states:

  • Caution

  • Poison

  • Danger

  • Warning

  • Fatal or Harmful if Swallowed or Inhaled

Cleaning products shouldn’t be toxic to be effective.

And they shouldn’t cost a lot of money. DIY cleaners and healthy alternatives are safe for you, pets and the planet. Save money and feel a lot better knowing you’re helping to protect the

earth for future generations.

Cleaning Products: Take Action

Understanding the chemicals that are in your body, and the damage of their cumulative effects, opens up the conversation so you can make informed decisions for yourself and your family. You do not have to be an unwitting victim, and certainly not a puppet.

Question the false advertising of the chemical company. They have perfected their brainwashing techniques through the subliminal practice of **engineering consent; as demonstrated by the naivete and blind trust most consumers have when acquiring products to feed, clean and protect their families.

Take action by challenging the industry that is poisoning you and your family. Voice your concerns to your government, open conversations with friends and family and encourage others to support companies that have integrity, moral conscience and reverence for the earth.

**Engineering Consent is a technique used by unscrupulous corporations to sway the public’s opinion and belief about hazardous products.
